Deadline for Application: April 20th, 2018
Cabin Writing Camps are week-long workshops for Idaho kids in grades 3-12. Individual camps run every week starting June 4th, 2018 through August for three hours each day. Each camp is led by a professional writer who designs exciting and challenging creative writing enrichment in their genre of expertise. Through active, imaginative writing experiences, Cabin camp engages students in the power of reading and writing as lifelong practice. Volunteer teaching assistants are a big part of the success of writing camp. Teaching assistants work directly with Cabin writing students and teaching writers during the duration of a camp, under the supervision of the camp’s teaching-writer. They play an integral role in keeping campers safe, happy, and engaged creatively. Most of our volunteer teaching-assistants are high-school or college-age, but we welcome volunteers from all backgrounds.
