On August 25, THE CABIN will host a book launch party and signing for WATER: Writers in the Attic, a short story and poetry anthology featuring the work of 40 local authors. A selection of contributing writers will read their stories at the microphone – many of them first-time published authors. Copies of Water and previous anthologies will be on sale for $12.99 with authors on hand for signing.
At the end of the evening, the 2017 Writers in the Attic competition will be announced. $5 entry at the door (members get in for $3!); proceeds benefit The Cabin.
Rediscovered Books will be selling books by local authors.
THE READING WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE BACK LAWN, SEATING IS LIMITED – BYOC (BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR) ENCOURAGED!
Last fall local authors were encouraged to submit stories and poems focused on the theme of “water.” Submissions were then reviewed and blind-judged by nonfiction teacher and memoir writer, Susan Rowe. 49 pieces out of 234 entries were chosen for the 2016 anthology.
