Workshop will meet on Tuesdays January 24th, Jan 31st, Feb. 7th, Feb. 14th, Feb. 21st, and Feb. 28th at The Cabin from 6:30-8:30pm

 

Writing is a powerful form of resistance and throughout history has been a force for positive social change. From performance poetry to street theater, letters to the editor, fiction, podcasts, and testimony for committee hearings, this six-week evening workshop will focus on methods of persuasion. on policy issues and on efforts to educate policy makers about the lives impacted by their decisions. This is an action-oriented workshop built to prepare participants to communicate and express themselves in contentious political climates. Writer, columnist, and former Idaho State Senator Nicole LeFavour will lead the workshop, which will cover everything from power analysis and crafting effective messages for a specific audience, to using personal story, common ground and powerful detail to evoke empathy and to change minds.
