It’s often the case that clever, witty, narrative poems feel like they come from the head. Other kinds of poems seem to come from deeper places: the third eye, the naked self, the heart. As summer gives way to fall, why not try to harvest whatever’s ready to come out from beneath the ego? In this workshop, we’ll talk about the role ritual can play in one’s writing life. We’ll use divinatory practices like bibliomancy and tarot as a way of trying to root around in our subconscious mind––and then report back to each other about what we find there.
This is a 6-week workshop that will meet on the following Thursdays* from 6:30 – 8:30 PM:
- October 10th
- October 17th
- October 24th
- November 7th
- November 14th
- November 21st
- Note: This workshop skips the week of October 31st – boo!
