Event Navigation

Whether just starting to explore writing or currently practicing, this six-week, multi-genre course focuses on the tools of the creative writer. Each session will feature a specific “tool”:

  1. Figurative language
  2. imagery
  3. shape and form
  4. rhythm and music
  5. reading as a writer
  6. revision

Using text models and prompts designed to inspire beginner and practicing writer alike, we will learn new skills, polish old ones, and refresh concepts. Regardless of genre—even if you don’t have a genre—this workshop with spark your creative fire.


This 6-week workshop will meet virtually on Zoom from 6:30 – 8:30 on the following Wednesdays:

About Daniel: 

Daniel Stewart is a teaching-writer for The Cabin’s Writers in the Schools program, serving as Writer in Residence at Ada County Juvenile Detention, and Frank Church High, an alternative school, in Boise, ID. The author of the collection The Imaginary World, his poems have appeared in BOAAT, Parentheses, Prairie SchoonerRattleScab, ThrushYes PoetryNightBlock, and Graviton Lit, among others.
