Please enroll your student at the grade level he or she will enter in the fall. Students are only eligible to enroll in camps that match their grade level. We will work with your family to find a grade-level appropriate workshop for your student if for some reason he or she is enrolled in a class meant for younger or older students. Please enroll as early as possible to give your teaching-writer lots of opportunity to plan. If you are signing up more than one child for the same camp, please process one at a time in order to give us correct student information.
Arrival & Dismissal
Please arrive at your camp venue (check your email confirmation for details!) a few minutes before the start of camp each day and check in with your teaching-writer. We ask that you pick up your student promptly at the end of camp each day as we have no post-class childcare available. We will only release students to adults who are designated by name at the time of registration. Students will not be free to leave camp on their own unless a designated adult has given The Cabin explicit permission to release them.
What to Bring
At the beginning of each camp week, The Cabin will provide each student with a notebook, a pencil, a string backpack, and an inspiring teaching-writer. Please remind your student to dress appropriately for the weather. We recommend wearing sunscreen, a hat, and good walking shoes. Most camps will spend the bulk of camp time outdoors exploring surrounding parks and city areas. If you feel your student will need a snack during camp, please send one with him or her. We cannot provide refrigeration. The Cabin may provide students a light snack such as popcorn or Otter Pops. Please notify The Cabin’s camp manager of any food allergies not indicated on your registration form ASAP by calling (208) 331-8000.
Cancelation for Low Enrollment
The maximum enrollment for each camp is twelve students. A minimum number of seven students are needed for The Cabin to run each camp. If this enrollment minimum isn’t reached by five days in advance of the first class, enrolled students will be notified of cancelation by email and phone call. Students enrolled in canceled camps will receive a refund for the full registration fee within one week of cancelation.
Cancelations by Student
A nonrefundable fee of $25 is included in each camp registration. For students who cancel enrollment more than five days in advance of the first camp meeting, The Cabin will grant a refund of tuition less the $25 fee. Students who cancel enrollment within five days of the first camp meeting are entitled to a 50% refund of tuition. Refunds will not be issued for cancelation requests received after camp has begun.
We cannot refund students for missed classes, but your teaching-writer will make every effort to share class materials with you if you are absent.
