Cambia - A Celebration of The Cabin’s Writers in the Schools program

Pack up your lawn chairs and blankets, and join us for a student reading of poetry and prose to celebrate the publication of CAMBIA, The Cabin's annual anthology of selected works from our Writers In the Schools program (WITS).

Student authors will receive a complimentary copy of the anthology and have the opportunity to read their published work aloud.

Teachers, families, and friends welcome!

Light snacks and refreshments will be served.

Thursday, May 7, at the Gene Harris Bandshell inside Julia Davis Park (150 N. Capitol Blvd. 83702)

Schedule

5:30 PM: All students writers arrive, check in, pick up their copy of CAMBIA, and find a seat on the lawn.

6:00 PM: Published WITS students begin reading, starting with younger grades first.

About Writers in the Schools (WITS)

WITS supports creative writing enrichment in grades 3 - 12 throughout the Treasure Valley. During the school year, local professional creative writers lead writing residencies at schools and juvenile detention centers. Through active, imaginative creative writing experiences crafted by Cabin teaching-writers, WITS engages students from all backgrounds in the power and pleasure of reading and writing.
