Writing Through Trauma & Pain: An Expressive Writing Workshop with Josephine Jones

  • The Cabin 801 S Capitol Blvd Boise United States (map)

When it comes to living with trauma and chronic pain, words work wonders.

Scientific studies have shown again and again that expressive writing is often as effective in the relief of trauma as talk therapy. In this interactive writing workshop, participants will use Dr. James Pennebaker’s groundbreaking model to practice guided written and mindful exercises to help them manage life’s difficult situations. Whether dealing with chronic physical pain, addiction, depression, or other mental health issues, the benefits of expressive writing engage the physical and emotional body to access all five senses and integrate the past to focus on the present.
