uJoin us for a reading with Patti Smith, acclaimed musician and author of Just Kids, M Train, and Year of the Monkey. Patti will also sing a few songs with her longtime bandmate Tony Shanahan.

PATTI SMITH won the 2010 National Book Award for her memoir Just Kids, about her relationship with Robert Mapplethorpe and her path to becoming an artist in 1960’s New York. She is the author of numerous works of memoir, poetry, and essays including M Train and Year of the Monkey. Smith was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, and in 2013, Rolling Stone ranked Horses number 10 on its list of the 100 best debut albums of all time.

Year of the Monkey will be available for local pickup and shipped to out-of-state lecture attendees in October.
